#ThinkingTuesday – Change your thinking; change your life.
Let us think about Celebration. It may not seem like much but as a spiritual discipline, it can bring much change to the world.
So think, how do we celebrate God?
First thing that pops in the mind is usually Christmas or Easter.
So what happens with the rest of the year?
Do you know Isaiah 55:11 says – you will go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and hills will burst into song before you, and all the trees of the field will clap their hands.
This tells us to come forth and be joyful. One of the many reasons we celebrate christmas right before the start of a new year is so we can take the joyful news of the birth of Jesus with us into the new year but it shouldn’t end there, we should remember to carry it everywhere we go throughout the rest of the year!
This verse is a true example of the Spiritual Discipline of Celebration. It is not just about smiling and praising, it is about being truly joyful in your heart and letting that show in everything you do.
Begin to think today about how you can celebrate God in every situation you find yourself in and may your joyful attitude bring a change in the little world around you.
Romans 15: 4 says that scripture was written for our encouragement and 1 Thessalonians 5:16 says to rejoice always!
Reflect on these two verses and remember that as the year ends, we may get tempted to be discouraged or grumble if our prospects for the new year look bleak but do not fall into that temptation. Hold fast to the spiritual discipline of celebration and be joyful at all times.
No complaints, just celebrate!!
