Vision Board 2019: Excellence, Spiritual Reset, There Is More & The Psalms.

Dearly Beloved Ones,

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!

I’m wishing you all a happy new year on the first of February because we lowkey know January was a trial month right? yes or yes! And NOW that we’re all fully subscribed to the year that is 2019, I bid you welcome and pray the creative excellence of God over you throughout this new year. May you receive a deeper understanding of the mind of God in 2019. May you realise there is far more waiting for you in God’s kingdom than you could ever hope dream of. May you have the confidence to enter into the Throne Room of God, and learn at His feet. As you grow in grace, receive boldness to publicly sing God’s praises and share your convictions with others. In Jesus name, Amen.

As is the custom of this house (gossipforjesus), I encourage you to seek the Lord for personal scriptures, songs and instructions for this year. We cannot overemphasize how important it is important to know God for yourself and find out by yourself what He has in store for you so you’re not led astray by false prophecies and doctrines.

We will now share our vision board for 2019, and if the Holy Spirit leads you, hold fast to any or all of the words, promises and instructions we received for the year 2019.

Be blessed as you read!

1. Excellence: From sometime in October/November 2018, the Lord began to impress on my heart the importance of / need for excellence. It felt burdensome at first, considering that we are fallen beings, but the more I was convicted to study this issue, the more liberating it became. And so guided by the lives of Daniel, Joseph and other Biblical examples, we are going to be examining this year a theme called – The (Excellent) Holy Spirit. We shall study what it means to have the Holy Spirit in us, focusing particularly on Him working in us as the spirit of excellence and perfection.

You would think I’d name new testament icons rather than Daniel and Joseph because “the Holy Spirit was only revealed in the new testament, yen yen yen” Lol, just stay tuned and see how it goes ok.

2. Spiritual Reset: This year the Lord is going to reset a lot of us spiritually. He’s going to be restoring us back to how we were before our fall (and we say this relatively because the ultimate restoration will occur when Christ returns so don’t misunderstand). We mean that He will begin to prepare us for His coming by resetting bad habits, unlearning prejudices and stereotypes, helping us grow in love, fellowship and communion. This year the Holy Spirit is going to take us back to the very basics. The essentials of our faith:

But we will [continue to] devote ourselves [steadfastly] to prayer and to the ministry of the word. – Acts 6:4 [AMP].

We’ll see how the Apostles decision to devote themselves to the ministry of the word and prayer, is evidence of their commitment to obeying the greatest commandment and fulfiling the great commission:

“Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment.

Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.

— Matthew 22:36-38 & Matthew 28:19 [NIV]

Where we have trailed off into darkness, the Lord will redirect us into the light and unto the narrow path, so we must press in through prayer and the word so that He can press reset. Who is excited about God pressing reset on their lives? For some of you, this may not be the exciting experience you expect, because resets naturally come with loss, no matter how little. So, if you choose to hold on to this promise, brace for impact! #PressInPressReset

3. There Is More: Although you might be thinking solely of the 2018 Hillsong album, this phrase actually came to us through prayer, whispers of the Holy Spirit and prophetic utterances. The more we prayed for understanding, we were led to these verses:

This is what the Scriptures mean when they say, “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him.” ⇔ Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think. Glory to him in the church and in Christ Jesus through all generations forever and ever! Amen.

– [1 Corinthians 2:9 Ephesians 3:20-21 (NLT)]

Amazing when these two verses are read in conjunction eh. Just brings out the weight and brilliance of all God has prepared and intends to accomplish in our lives. Hold fast to these verses!

Now, to the Hillsong Album! Yes, you know we always come with songs at the start of the new year, and this year, four songs from the “There is More” album are on our list. It may be cliche or ironic, but these songs were gifted to us by the Holy Spirit to help us focus our prayers and fix our eyes on His promises throughout the year.

*You’ll find the links to these songs at the very end of the post, so keep reading!

4. The Psalms: This brings us to the fourth and final point (and you know the number 4 is super important to us at gossipforjesus). The Lord has instructed us to praise and worship him this year through a study of the Psalms. We’re still fleshing this out, but we should have a number of Psalms up every month. The aim is to cover all 150 of them by December 31st either by way of an in-depth study, song, prayer/affirmation, fun fact etc.

One way or another, we’ll discover God through the Psalms for He has deemed it our acceptable service or worship to Him in this house and we are excited about the journey!

HONOURABLE MENTIONS

  • Throne Room: This year, we must not shy away from the Throne Room. This relates to our calling to spiritual reset. We are going to press into the throne room, (the ultimate place of submission) so God can press reset. Martha pressed in, Moses Pressed in, Mary pressed in, and the Lord pressed reset. They lost many things but gained so much more!

Let us, therefore, come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

— Hebrews 4:16 (NKJV)

  • Hebrews 10: 19–25: There’s no better way to explain this than to just read the entirety of the passage. The focus is on boldness and fellowship, but I just cannot isolate those points from the entire exhortation. So read the entire thing, and hold fast to it for this year (note the highlighted words).

    Hold Fast Your Confession

Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh, and having a High Priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good worksnot forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as isthe manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.

And that’s a wrap! Hope you enjoyed our Vision Board 2019, let us know what you’re most excited for, what you would like to see more of and so on! Tell us in the comments, what word or promise you are holding on to?

Hope you’ve been edified in one way or another. May God, the father of our Lord Jesus Christ, give you grace and peace!

SELAH
