Heal me, O Lord, and I will be healed. Save me and I will be saved. For You are my praise.
— Jeremiah 17:14 [NLV]
Are you’re currently suffering from an illness, physical, mental or emotional disease and you want to cry out to God for healing but don’t know what to do? God tells us that through prayer He can heal us and use us to work miracles for His glory as we repent of our sins, turn and surrender to Him.
Also, scripture says that you can request for prayers from the elders of the church:
Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
— James 5:14-16
In the meantime, we’ve put together these healing affirmations from our favorite Bible verses. May God reveal His will for your healing as you speak these affirmations.
Before we begin, here’s a short prayer for healing:
Dear Abba Father, you are Jehovah-Rapha, the God who heals, and you have the final word on all that concerns me, my health and healing.
I come to you in prayer, longing to hear your will and asking for your divine healing. I believe that, if you will, all it takes is one word from you to make me whole. I don’t always know what your will is Lord, especially in times like this, but I desperately seek your face for answers.
I absolutely believe you have the power to heal me, and the desire of my heart is to receive healing and to be free from this illness. If I can bring you glory through healing, then that’s what I ask for. That’s what I desire. Whether supernaturally or through doctors, I believe the healing you give is always miraculous, wholesome and permanent. And for this I give you all the praise and glory.
Lord, please cleanse me of all sin and unrighteousness, and begin healing me from the inside out. But if your answer is no, or not now, may your grace is sufficient for me. May your will become my will. Use this trial to strengthen my faith in you and help me to keep on praising you no matter what.
In Jesus name, I ask these things, Amen.
