2017: A Year of Identity, Casting Crowns & Immeasurably More.

#WorshipWednesday – Praise the Lord in spirit and in truth.

Hey, Hey, Hey Beloved,

After the gruelling year we’ve just had, you might be feeling downcast about the new year. Cheer up! Child of God, there’s a lot to be excited for in 2017. If you haven’t already, please be sure to see our declarations for 2017 to get a glimpse of the many things in store for those who love God and are called according to His purpose this year. God has immeasurably more for those who will serve Him faithfully in Spirit and in truth this year.

If you haven’t, we encourage you to seek the Lord for personal scriptures, songs and instructions for this year. Make sure to seek His heart for His will for you this year. It is important to know God for yourself and to find out by yourself what He has in store for you so you won’t be led astray by false prophecies and doctrines. Be sure to also pray for God to reveal any surprises ahead so that you can be well prepared for them.

I personally spent the last 12 days of the year at an annual retreat in my church, we spent the time fasting (yes, even on Christmas day) and waiting on the Lord for His instructions for each day of the year. During this time, I received these songs as personal guidance for my 2017 and also for our team the TG4Ji. The lyrics of these songs contain prayers and targets that serve as my focus throughout the year. Whenever I feel like I am drifting away or struggling with my purpose, these songs will pull me back to the right path.

Do enjoy these songs and be sure to ask God to give you your own songs/scripture. I leave you with this:

Come to me, all who labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.

—  Ezekiel 36:26; Matthew 11:28-30 [ESV]

James Fortune & FIYA – Identity // Identity

Crowns – Hillsong Worship // Let There Be Light

I couldn’t find the full song on YouTube, so I have included a preview and a cover by Orchard Hill Music. You can still find the song on Spotify, in the album: Let There Be Light.
