We’ve all heard the song about prayer being the master key to everything. Jesus started and ended with prayer, and we should too. So here’s 6 verses to pray over your significant other, even if you haven’t met them yet!

P.S. Don’t forget to insert a name where you see “my loved one”

1. When They Are Overwhelmed:

♥ Psalm 27:1 ♥

The Lord is my light and my salvation;  whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

Prayer: Dear Lord, please remove every fear from the heart of my loved one. Be (his/her) stronghold in stormy times and cause (him/her) to remember the joy of your salvation. In Jesus name, Amen.

2. When They Feel Inadequate:

♥ John 14:27 ♥

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.

Prayer: Dear Lord, please give my loved one confidence and peace. Keep (his/her) heart safe from worldly cares and concerns. In Jesus name, Amen.

3. When They Are Overcome With Worry:

♥ Ephesians 3:20 & Philippians 4:6 ♥

Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us.

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.

Prayer: Dear Lord, please help my loved one not to worry. Give (him/her) the grace to be thankful despite what (he/she) is going through and remind (him/her) of your exceeding power, so (he/she) can bring all (his/her) troubles to you in prayer. In Jesus name, Amen.

4. Understanding God’s Plan/Purpose For Their Life:

♥ Matthew 6:33 ♥

But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

Prayer: Dear Lord, please help my loved one make you a priority in (his/her) life. When (he/she) is confused about which path to take, help (him/her) to seek your kingdom first. May (he/she) never be distracted by the vanity of life. In Jesus name, Amen.

5. Their Relationships With Others:

♥ Luke 6:36-38 ♥

“Judge not, and you will not be judged; condemn not, and you will not be condemned; forgive, and you will be forgiven; give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you.”

Prayer: Dear Lord, please give my loved one the grace to be charitable, tolerant, generous and forgiving in (his/her) relationships with others. In Jesus name, Amen.

6. Their Relationship With You:

♥ Philippians 2:1-6 ♥

So if there is any encouragement in Christ, any comfort from love, any participation in the Spirit, any affection and sympathy, complete my joy by being of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind. Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests but also to the interests of others. Have this mind among yourselves.

Prayer: Dear Lord, please help my loved one to be a source of encouragement towards me. May we be of one mind, one spirit and one accord. May (he/she) not act in selfish ambition but always remain humble. May the spirit of love dwell in our midst and teach us to consider each other’s interests first. In Jesus name, Amen.

Remember, you can pray these verses over anyone! From friends to family members and even loved ones but most importantly, you can pray these prayers over yourself too! Start now! We must become the change we wish to see in others.
