Did you know?

God called both Adam and Eve, “Adam”.

Male and female created he them; and blessed them, and called their name Adam, in the day when they were created.

This is known in christianity today as the Law of coverture, and is the reason why women take their husband’s’ name. They are considered “one flesh”.  It is also the basis of equality between male and female in the eyes of God.

And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh?
