It is time to seek the LORD.

#MeditationMonday – Out of the abundance of a man’s heart, his mouth speaks.

This week’s #meditationmonday verse, is Hosea 10:12 (KJV)

Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy; break up your fallow ground: for it is time to seek the LORD, till he come and rain righteousness upon you.

In NLT, it’s translated

I said, ‘Plant the good seeds of righteousness, and you will harvest a crop of love. Plow up the hard ground of your hearts, for now is the time to seek the LORD, that he may come and shower righteousness upon you.’

Scripture is littered with verses encouraging us to seek the Lord, it is time, now is the time. Now, Now, Now – Don’t delay, don’t procrastinate because, now is the time to seek the Lord.

If we seek the Lord with all our heart, we will find Him!

Deuteronomy 4:29

But if from thence thou shalt seek the LORD thy God, thou shalt find him, if thou seek him with all thy heart and with all thy soul.

What is most interesting about Hosea 10:12, KJV and NLT is the interchange of love and mercy with righteousness. If we sow righteousness, we will reap a harvest of mercy and love.  We need to seek the Lord, that he may shower righteousness upon us.

The times we live in are hard times, it is frowned upon to believe in anything other than in whatever selfish desires others claim to have a right to. Seeking something more is seen as being gullible at best or for naive people with lower reasoning capabilities. The only way our hearts won’t be hardened by all the hate thrown at us for our faith is if we earnestly seek the Lord – that is why we have to do it right away, there is no I will come back after I’m 25, I just want to enjoy life first. No, None of that. There’s no enjoyment or fulfilment of life outside of God. Outside of Jesus Christ, there is no life. He gives LIFE, real life. Not worldly life that leads to sin and separation from God but life in abundance. When we seek God, He rains His righteousness upon us and we will receive this life, we will receive abundant eternal life.

Our hearts have been hardened in certain areas, some of us are holding on to anger or unforgiveness in deep dark places and it is affecting our ability to effectively seek the Lord. We refuse to share our secrets with anyone, not even with God Himself because we are angry at Him over our experiences – that is pride in us speaking, we feel how could we, faithful as we are experience such evil things? How could God do this to me? God is sovereign, He does as He pleases and will continue to do as He pleases. We on the other hand, if we don’t let go, how can we move on? We must let go of our anger and unforgiveness in order for every area of our heart to be freed up from from hate and open to receive healing from God.

We live in a “DO IT NOW” culture.

Everyone is being forced into doing one thing or the other under the now or never (aka #goals) movement.

sinai

Now is the time to find a husband #MarriageGoals

Now is the time to lose your virginity #BaeGoals

Now is the time to chase after riches #MoneyGoals

Now is the time to chase after women #PlayerGoals

The only thing the bible says now is the time to do is SEEK THE LORD. As Christians, that is all we must listen to. Seeking God now is the only #goals we must be concerned with because it is the direct word of God. If you are ever confused on what to do, just ask yourself “Am I seeking the Lord?” Before every decision, ask yourself “Am I Seeking The Lord?” This is what we should be doing, all the other things we gain on this earth – be it riches, or companionships – should be on the pathway of seeking the Lord.

Isaiah 55:6

Seek ye the LORD while He may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:

While pondering on the “while He may be found” in isaiah 55:6, I remembered from Revelation that a time will come when men will seek death and not find it. There is also a time when God will not be found because He will be far from men. Seeking Him at that point will be useless, which is why Bible encourages us to seek God now, while we still can!

1 Chronicles 16:11

Seek the LORD and his strength, seek his face continually.

We must seek the Lord continually!

It is an evil scheme to plan in your heart that you’ll use your young years where you are active and strong to enjoy the world but will dedicate the latter years when you are weary and cannot do much to God who made and created you – this is trying to mock and fool God, and God is not mocked, what a man sows, he will reap. Let’s stay sowing seeds of righteousness in our hearts on the path of seeking God. We must never stray from seeking the Lord, our hardened hearts must be ploughed over and over and the good seed of righteousness sown in so that when the LORD pours His rain on us, our good seeds can grow and germinate!

Selah

2 Chronicles 15:12

And they entered into a covenant to seek the LORD God of their fathers with all their heart and with all their soul;

As we meditate on this today, let’s be sure to make a covenant in our hearts to seek the Most High God with all our might this week.

Grace & Peace!
