One argument is that the Bible never condemned the drinking of alcohol, rather it condemns the abuse of it resulting in drunkenness. In other words, the Bible condemns what we call today, alcoholism. We are admonished to keep a sober mind, both spiritually and physically and to the drunkard, to the alcoholic, this is not possible.

Another argument is that many say that its about the inwardly character, but accepting Jesus usually brings change to every aspect of a person’s life. All things may be lawful but not all things are helpful. You can’t draw a straight conclusion that those who smoke and drink are not christian, or can you? What do you think, is it possible?
