Admitting Our Weaknesses.

#MeditationMonday‬ – Out of the abundance of a man’s heart, his mouth speaks.

Admitting Our Weaknesses Before Him In Prayer

Romans 7: 18 -19

And I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature. I want to do what is right, but I can’t. I want to do what is good, but I don’t. I don’t want to do what is wrong, but I do it anyway.

For I know that nothing good dwells in

We go to God in prayer to ask for something we need and start off by telling him all the good things we have done or that we are going to do thinking that it will please him and he will reward us based on our good deeds but we forget to mention our weaknesses and ask for His grace to help us overcome them. That is just our pride speaking. Whatever good you have done or intend to do, trust that the Lord has already seen it and knows your heart.

Matthew 6: 3-4

“But when you do a charitable deed, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing,“that your charitable deed may be in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will Himself reward you openly.” (NKJV)

The important thing is that we must admit our weaknesses to God and acknowledge that we require his grace to do all things, so that he can make us perfect in our weaknesses.

We cannot operate as Christians in our own strength, it will never be enough.

Stop telling God how good you are going to be today, you are going to be good until you put your feet on the ground each morning and that is the end of it because the flesh takes over and you will need his grace to defeat the temptation to not be good from that point onwards.

DO not let your pride deceive you into thinking that you can be good on your own. Admit that you need His grace and ask him for help with your weaknesses today!
